A much easier and cost-effective strategy is to treat and encase the mattress. Start by pulling the mattress and box springs off your bed frame. Treat the bed and the areas around your bed. I also use diatomaceous earth when I treat for a lasting effect.

Once you have treated your bed make sure to wash your linens and make sure that nothing hangs to the floor. This keeps the bugs from crawling up to your bed.

Step Three:

These bugs infest by laying and hatching hundreds of eggs at a time. It takes about two weeks for an egg to hatch. It’s also very hard to kill one of these eggs. Even if you treat these new bugs could hatch and your right back where you started with a new infestation.
