The question “How Do You Kill Bed Bugs” is one that I hear a lot from the people that visit this site. And those that visit my Facebook page.
There are several steps that you need to take to kill bedbugs.
Step One
Step one is always to identify what is bothering you. Bed Bug infestations aren’t always readily visible. These bugs are also experts at hiding.
You are looking for both the bugs and traces of them. You could see bugs, shells, blood smears, eggs, and fecal droppings.
Bed Bugs are very small and can be hard to see. When you look for them it can help to have a flashlight. Look for them along the seams of your mattress, and any area around where you sleep.
Step Two – How Do You Kill Bed Bugs
Once you have identified the bug that’s bothering you as bed bugs, it’s time to move on to treatment. One of the first things to do is to treat your bed.
Treatment should start by protecting and isolating your bed. By isolating your bed I mean creating a safe zone while you treat the rest of your home.
You do this by stripping all bedsheets off your bed. Take the mattress and box springs off your bed frame. Use contact and/or a residual pesticide on your bed frame.
Consider getting some type of cups to set your bed legs on to make it harder for the bugs to get on your bed. You might also consider moving your bed away from the wall for the same reason. Using double-sided tape on the legs can also help.
Once you’ve treated your frame it’s time to put your bed back together. I’d recommend that you use a mattress enclosure to trap any bugs that are already in your mattress. A mattress is large enough of a mass that it’s hard to treat. Using a bed bug mattress enclosure will keep them away from you.
Once you have your bed back together make sure that your sheets don’t hang to the floor. This will only give the bugs a way to get back on your bed.
Doing this gives you a bedbug-free zone. Bed Bug Treatment
Now you can treat the rest of your home. Treat in the areas where you spend time sitting or sleeping.
.Step Three
The final and maybe most important step is retreating. To kill bed bugs fast you need to make sure that you retreat.
Bedbugs reproduce by laying eggs. These eggs can be hard to kill. If you don’t kill all the eggs they will hatch and re-infest your home.
This is why it’s important to re-treat as needed. Bed Bug Treatment
